LOVE ATLANTA is a catalyst in developing a lifestyle of service. We cannot wait to serve our city together!
Our Partner, Frontline Response, builds intentional relationships and shows the love of Christ in tangible ways to each individual as they are, whatever their condition and circumstance, through food, clothes, and conversation. We were able to join with them for Compassion Night as we took a Team of volunteers to the streets of Atlanta to spend time alongside men and women struggling with homelessness and addiction. Although they have few possessions, we know that each person has something infinitely more valuable—a name, a story, and a future. What will become of that future is the focus of this time.
Our Partner, BeLoved Atlanta, is the only two-year residential program in Atlanta that is committed to creating community for adult women who have survived prostitution, trafficking, and addiction. We were able to revitalize two of their homes by staining their porches, doing some lawn care, and beautifying the outside of their living spaces!
Our Partner, Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, is specially designed for the medical care of children under the age of 21. From colorful, friendly waiting rooms to equipment that fits children and their families. Due to COVID-19, we were not allowed to enter the hospital this year, but we were able to make “fun baskets” for patients, their siblings and families, including an encouraging note! Who doesn’t love a good craft or coloring book while you’re sick?
Our Partner, Friends of Refugees, desires to see abundant life and flourishing communities, by empowering refugees in the Clarkston Community through opportunities for well-being, education and employment. This summer, due to COVID-19, Friends of Refugees has been providing at-home activities for all elementary age students who live in Kristopher Woods Apartments. As they continue to keep the students at the front of their minds including safe social distancing practices, their mission and goal has been to provide lunches to all the students. We were able to join them to make + deliver these lunches!
Our Partner, Must Ministries!, aims to assist and transform lives within the community by helping meet the basic needs of individuals, families, and children. We were able to join them to organize, sort and pack clothing and basic essential items at their Donation Center to bring a sense of hope and provision to those they serve!
Our Partner, Young Life, invites kids to follow Jesus, cares for them regardless of their response, and changes lives in the process by building relationships. We were able to serve the Young Life Midtown Team by painting and cleaning their office and club room, along with beautifying their outdoor space and doing yard work.
